The apparent silence of the alleged VP Robredo on the involvement of the Office of the Vice President in the #LeniLeaks is quite disturbing. Any decent lawyer knows that there is such a thing as admission by silence. Check it out – Rule 130, Section 32 of the Rules of Court.
Section 32. Admission by silence. — An act or declaration made in the presence and within the hearing or observation of a party who does or says nothing when the act or declaration is such as naturally to call for action or comment if not true, and when proper and possible for him to do so, may be given in evidence against him.
But then, who can blame her
silence? Either she admits direct complicity or she betrays the cabal of Loida Nicolas Lewis and the rest of her funders and her staff who are involved. She is placed between a rock and a hard place.
Her involvement may be of two kinds: involvement by acquiescence or involvement by direct participation. Either way, it’s an impeachable offense.
The grounds for Impeachment according to the Constitution are: culpable violation of the Constitution, treason, bribery, graft and corruption, other high crimes, or betrayal of public trust.
Looking at #LeniLeaks, the clearest ground and easiest to prove is betrayal of public trust. If the Duterte administration finds out that Leni Robredo is complicit in the Oust Duterte movement and she uses her office and public funds to support that ouster moves, that clearly is a betrayal of public trust.
It takes 1/3 of the House of Representatives to impeach the Vice President. Judging from political alliances, there is enough number in the House to impeach her.
We need 2/3 of the Senate to convict her. Depending on the strength of evidence, 16 in the Senate is possible.
Madame Leni and the yellow minions are afraid, very afraid. She may lose the Vice Presidency not because she loses BBM’s election protest. She can lose it because she is too hungry for power and can’t wait. She can lose it because her backers are nincompoops who did not protect the privacy settings of their Yahoo Groups.
Madame Leni, it seems your days are numbered. #LeniLeaks leads to #LeniKnows and #LeniLies. Now the battlecry is #ImpeachLeni. #ByeLeni, your lust for power has not only destroyed you but has destroyed the trust the public has reposed on you.
See you at the Impeachment Court!
